For those of you who use electric motors, have you considered using lithium batteries? I have gone to lithium batteries and for me, so far, so good. My electric motor has been running great with a 100 Ah lithium battery. I have been charging my lithium battery approximately once a week. The cool thing about my lithium battery is that it has blue tooth which allows me to check its charge with my phone. I have had no issues. You do have to buy a dedicated charger. I also have a smaller lithium battery for my fish finder. Yes they cost more but you should get many more charges and a battery should last 10 years. Of course another big attraction is the weight, less than 20 pounds. I have also noticed a definite increase in power with my 55 thrust Minn Kota! I like that!
I have the same Alberta Lithium battery and really am impressed by it. And for all the same reasons. I fished two lakes over a week on the same charge. Definitely worth it and your wife can even carry the battery!
