I am a big advocate of boat inspection stations. Keeping invasive species out of our lakes and streams is so important! In Alberta and practically everywhere else, it is mandatory for ALL types of water craft to be inspected if the boat inspection station is open. They are usually open from around noon to 8 or 9 at night! It takes about 10 minutes for the inspection. Keeping zebra mussels out of Alberta or any invasive species for that matter is important!
Things that make a difference that you should do each time out include washing your boat, especially if you are going to a different body of water, washing your anchors and pulling the boat plug when you are travelling; basically keeping everything clean.
We all have to do our part!
