Spring at Bullshead

Well April 1st has come and it that means that many lakes and streams are open (not all, do consult your regulations) to fishing. Larry and Darren made the journey to the Cypress Hills to fly fish Bullshead Reservoir! The lake was in great shape and the rainbows were quite active. Darren confirmed that his annual sunburn happened while out on this first trip. The guys were successfully using balanced flies (bruised leeches and ice minnows) as well as chironomids including a Dragon Lake Special. Darren had a tremendous start to their second day by hooking up with several beautiful bucks, several topping the 24 inch range. The guys also caught some beautiful chrome rainbows.

By the way, where is the wind?

...as they say, a picture speaks a 1000 words. Beautiful specimens guys, love the colours and the chromers!

Remember that you can get your new fly fishing licence at Alberta Relm (click on the link!)!
