Fly Fishing Conditions and Family

My buddy Reid has been having an amazing season at Plummer's Arctic Lodge. The season has been limited to Canadians although our neighbours from the south can now cross into Canada providing they have two vaccines in their arm and have a negative COVID test!

Karen and I have spent a great deal of our time with our families lately. Our aging parents are our top priority right now and we have not been out fly fishing very much! It has been great to see our family and for the most part, the circumstances have been happy occasions!

Sadly, our water levels here in the province are extremely low and the water temperatures on our lakes are at record levels. Karen and I hope to get to some water in the mountains in the coming weeks where the water temperatures are reasonable to us!

Some of our waters that have pike and walleye should still be fine to fly fish too!

We need rain and cooler temperatures. Climate change has certainly created a different world for fly fishing fantatics. It is tough to see fires destroy so much forest and personal property!
