Success!

It was a sad day when we lost Evan Ritchie, one of the founding members of our fly tying group. Tonight we had a massive fly tying materials give away. The fly tying materials were Evan's. Doug, Karen and I packed up all of the fly tying materials and brought them to our tying place. Once there, Adam organized all the tying material. That took a lot of time! After getting the word out, the big day arrived. We had a tremendous turn out to say the least! I would estimate that 85% of the fly tying material went out the door. That made me smile. There is going to be a bit of "Evan" in all of our tying areas!

...and we as a group, donated almost $1200 to Freshwater Conservation Canada on behalf of the Ritchie family!

Next week, Rick Miyauchi is our guest tyer. We will be examining how to add wing pads to chironomids. It will be an excellent tying session. Rick asks everyone to bring a black and red sharpie, UTC black thread, UTC 140 black thread and rusty brown UTC 70 thread. Also, bring your favourite thin resin and UV light (e.g. solarez).  I will bring extra of all the things Rick wanted you to bring for next tying session just in case you cannot locate the above items. This will be a very educational tying session.

See you next week!
