Angling Restrictions Being Implemented in ES1

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION 

Everyone, we received email notification from Paul C  (AEP Bow River Biologist) that water flows and water temperatures have hit the threshold for the Time of Day closure.

Time of Day (Hoot Owl) will soon be coming into effect until August 31st for the Bow & All of ES 1 as per the announcement this spring. The official start date has NOT been set but Paul mentions the public announcement will most likely be Thursday Aug 18 with start date details etc.

Based on the long term weather forecast I don’t think it’s any real surprise. I had been mistakenly looking at Calgary flow data which is still in the lower flow average but is forecast to drop in the next few days to less than 100cms however, Caresland (and many other ES1 streams) have been well below for several days.

This is to give everyone a heads up for planning fishing trips over the next couple of weeks.
