My good friend Scott told me how much he loves shore lunch. Me too! The way our week at Plummers shaped up, we had two opportunities for shore lunch. Both shore lunches were amazing. We ate lake trout and grayling on the shore of Great Bear Lake. Our guides also have their favourite ways of preparing our mouthwatering lunch! We wait until just before noon to keep a few fish for lunch! Usually a couple of lake trout!
Gathering some dried sticks for our lunch fire is relatively easy. The guides all have a shore lunch kit in their boats. Oh the fish tastes amazing and we usually have home fries, corn and beans to add. One shore lunch started with arctic grayling hors d'oeuvres that were spiced just right followed by cajon honey lake trout. The homemade flies were so amazing too.
After lunch, we put out the small fire and then get back out on the water!
Scott was right! The wait to have shore lunch in the arctic was so worthwhile! Yum!
Baked lake trout! Yum!
Scott loved his shore lunches!
The gulls moved in to get the fish scraps!
