Swinging Clousers for Walleye, ...then the Wind Came

It has been a while since Karen and I have targeted walleye on the Red Deer River. The weather was not looking too good but we chanced a quick dash to the upper Red Deer. We knew the wind was winding up but maybe we would get a bit of time on the water. Well it was well worth the trip out! We swung clousers for about three hours in between wind gusts. Finally the wind just took over and we headed to the truck! We hooked several walleye. We had most of our action on a blue clouser  minnow with a stinger hook!

The nasty wind showed up later in the afternoon with sustained winds up to 90 kph! Transport trucks tipped over on Hwy 2,  two trains derailed and sadly several wild grass fires flared up, especially in southern Alberta. Not good.

I hope this intense low pressure moves on and dissipates quickly!
