Pike Like Bloodworms

Karen and I had quite the pleasant surprise a few days back. We were targeting lake trout but the first three fish we caught were pike. We were using a rather large bloodworm pattern. We have experienced this as well with chironomids as well. Pretty cool to have this happen!

Bob, I note that you use tailing gloves frequently.
Ran across this video the other day on the effects of using gloves;

Your thoughts?

It is a good question. We occasionally do use cotton gloves that are wet. I have not seen evidence that it does any harm. For the most part we do not use them. There are many schools of thought about this. I have read many! I do occasionally use them, but for the most part I do not! I have never encountered a fish with damage because of a wet cotton glove, maybe you have.

Thx for the reply Bob.
No, haven't encountered such a damaged fish, but after watching the video, will not use a glove.

side note...this week of record heat will put a lot of stress on our fish. I fear for some of our pond stocked trout. Still a lot of flow in the foothills streams..so I hope they will be OK
