Boulder Lake is a reclamation project just outside of Blackfalds. Head west down the Aspelund Road (Township Road 394) and turn south (about 1.5 down Aspelund Road) on RR275 that has Spirit Creek Golf Course (which you cannot get to because the bridge across the Blindman River is closed). The ACA has a small parking lot there and there is a portable washroom on site. The lake is stocked with rainbows and last night there was a lot of rainbows rising for boatmen and backswimmers.. The ACA has installed casting platforms as well. It is a pretty spot and well worth a family outing. Oh yes there are both rainbows and tiger trout in Boulder!
