Friday Fly Fishing with Good Friends

My 17 foot G3 was the perfect platform to take my good friends Jay and Colin for a day of stillwater fly fishing. The day started off cloudless. We knew showers may roll in during the early afternoon. A few did and luckily no major storms disrupted our day on the water! Chironomids caught us several dozen rainbows today! We had a great time. Chromies were again our best fly, specifically a Rusty Nail (John Kent). We messed around with several depths but setting our strike indicators for  9-11 feet in 14 feet of water was a great strategy!

The best part of the day was visiting and laughing. It seems so easy to solve all of the world problems while out on the water with a fly rod. Wonderful day!

Jay with a decent rainbow!

Colin with a fatty too!

Tami showing Larry and Kevin how it is done!

"Carrot" Chironomids were happening today!

This throat sample was from one hungry rainbow!

Kevin with a feisty rainbow on!

Larry and Rick were busy!

Rick know how to relax on the water!
