Happy Windsday!

The warm weather always seems to be accompanied by rocking wind. Today it is warm and the south east wind is blowing like some areas in Manitoba we love to fly fish. Karen and I decided to get on the water early so we could fly fish a little while before the wind came. That was a good strategy although getting into the leeward areas was a good idea. I did see Wayne and Ken out on the water doing just that! Lots of chromies are showing up. Today I fly fished with John Kent's, Rusty Nail size 16. It certainly drew lots of attention. Yes there were tangles and we had three break offs today, all on dandy rainbows. Sigh, you cannot win them all. Karen did land this enormous rainbow (picture below) yesterday on a Rusty Nail! Below you can take a look at how John likes to tie the Rusty Nail! This chironomid has been one of my "go to" chironomids when chromies are showing up in the throat sample.
